How to Object

If you share our concerns, then TAKE ACTION today by posting an objection:

Alfreton - Ref: AVA/2020/1224

Email your objection to: development@ambervalley.gov.uk

Or post your objection online at: https://www.ambervalley.gov.uk/planning

Shirland - Ref: 20/01282/FL

Email your objection to: developmentcontrol@ne-derbyshire.gov.uk

Or post your objection online at: https://planapps-online.ne-derbyshire.gov.uk/online-applications

Tips on how to object:
  • Object on line, by email or by letter before the deadline; if you miss the deadline object anyway as your view may still be taken into account
  • You can object to either or both applications; if you want to object to both you must submit separate objections to the relevant Council
  • Include the application reference, your name and address otherwise your objection will not count
  • The number of objections submitted is important – you can object more than once as long as you raise a different objection each time; more than one person from the same household can object; encourage your family & friends to object on your behalf (they don’t have to live locally for their objection to count)
  • Choose from the objections below (just one will do!) but copying them word for word will weaken our case. Use your own words where you can. Add your own points, these are just some ideas

Key points to object on:
  • The vast and completely disproportionate size of the proposed site in the proposed location
  • The harm that will be caused to the landscape
  • The failure to protect and enhance the public rights of way and access to them
  • The aesthetic diminution of the character and beauty of the views from the footpaths west of Alfreton church and towards the countryside beyond as well as from other footpaths and public spaces on the opposite side of the valley
  • The consequential effect on local tourism, wildlife and nearby heritage buildings
